Ostehuset is a combined bakery, café, and delicatessen shop located in Stavanger, Norway. The first Ostehuset opened its doors in 1999 and today Ostehuset counts with a total of 3 venues around Stavanger.

Ostehuset’s goal is to deliver pure bread, pure bakery products, and pure food - as well as to deliver an excellent taste and it is hardly a coincidence that most of the city’s restaurants buy their bread from Ostehuset. 

Ostehuset bakes after their own recipes and a four year old yeast culture that is always brought with them to the next day of opening.

We had the pleasure to meet and make friends with Ostehuset's owners Tom Helge Sørensen & Hanne N. Berentzen during our last visit to Stavanger where we participated the famous Gladmat food festival and the opening of the Sabi Omakase restaurant.

Tom is a great expert and aficionado when it comes to cheese and we quickly agreed that it would be most interesting to make a collaboration pairing sake & cheese combined with some of Sebastian's food.

We are looking much forward to welcome you at Ostehuset Øst during 2 very special nights where we will unite and share our passion for sake, food & cheese.

Sussie will present 6 different sake, both local Norwegian and Japanese, that each will paired be with either a local Norwegian cheese or a small food preparation made by Sebastian.

The participants will not only get to try excellent Norweigan and Japanese sake, amazing local cheese and delicious food by Sebastian, but will also get a presentation and introduction to the world of sake including history, production methods and a talk about umami the 5th taste, which is one of the reasons why sake pairs so well with many different types of cuisines & food - including cheese.

Sake brewer, Brock Bennett, will also be joining us for this very special event and present some of the sake he brews at Europe's very first sake brewery, Nøgne Ø.
